LOT – LEADERS OF TOMORROW

Mentor a promising youth; share the knowledge you have acquired; put your fingerprint on the next generation of professionals through the NBMBAA® Leaders of Tomorrow® program.
For more than a decade, this challenging program has had a stimulating influence on high school students with a grade point average between C- and C+. These students have exhibited leadership potential, but require additional motivating people and factors in their lives to realize their full potential.

Leaders of Tomorrow (LOT) is a national network of high school students and MBA professionals who focus on mentoring and student empowerment. The mission of LOT-Denver is to develop positive, socially aware, teenage professionals poised to enter college on scholarship with an internship related to their chosen course of study.

This program will be implemented in Denver and is scheduled to begin Spring 2008. Denver metro area high school students, known as "Leaders", have the opportunity to interact with outstanding business professionals from the Denver area and all over the world. Mentors will guide the students through a challenging program designed to help them develop the skills and attitudes necessary for success. Leaders will participate in a variety of activities, workshops, and events that emphasize growth in the following areas:

• Leadership
• Academics
• Professional Development
• Community Service
• Securing Internships & Scholarships
• Goal Setting and Attainment

Monthly Workshops
LOT workshops are held monthly on Saturday mornings. Invited speakers present and conduct workshops on various education and career-related topics.

NBMBAA Annual Conference
Select Leaders will receive subsidized expenses for a trip to the National Black MBA National Training Conference, the largest annual gathering of black business professionals in the world. These Leaders will attend workshops with students from across the country. The workshops will expose them to careers in business and entrepreneurship.

Scholarships/ Internships
The pursuit of a college degree is an expensive venture. However, there are numerous funding sources available in the form of scholarships, fellowships, and grants. LOT's goal is for each Leader to attend college on a full or partial scholarship with an internship that relates to their chosen course of study. We will help you!

The program is free for metropolitan Denver high school students. Leaders must complete an application and parental waiver prior to participate in the program. The LOT Application is downloadable in .pdf format, please click here for: LOT Application
